Delhi NCR: Mewar Group of Institutions celebrated 66th Republic Day of India by organizing a cultural program showcasing the theme of “Different States, Different Cultures, but One Nation”. The Republic Day celebration started with unfurling of the national tricolor by Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya, Chairperson, Mewar Group of Institutions, which was followed by singing of the National Anthem.
The main attraction of the cultural extravaganza was a sequence of folk dances from almost all the states of India, from J&K to Kerala, which was put together by 95 students of the B.Ed department of Mewar Institute. Students of BJMC produced a dramatic representation on the stage, which was based on Ramprasad Bismil’s gazal named “Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna”. Recital of nationalistic poems and songs interspersed with speeches by students and faculty filled the atmosphere with a nationalistic fervor.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gadiya said that the Republic Day is the day that marked the end of rule by Emperors, Kings and Nawabs. It is the day when India was declared a republic, which will be ruled by a government of the people, for the people, and by the people. The nation will be run in accordance with a constitution. Dr Gadiya observed that our nation has made giant strides of progress, and we have come a long way from where we were six decades ago. The progress has touched nearly all sections of the society.
Dr. Gadiya cautioned that we still have miles to go. He stressed the need to remove caste system from the society, which is out of sync with modern times. He urged the teachers to motivate students and inculcate a sense of nationalism in them because only then the society can be free of corruption. Otherwise, no amount of legal reforms can bring an end to corruption. He emphasized that only motivated teacher can bring about a change in the attitude of the future generation.
Dr. Alka Agarwal, Director, Board of Studies, Mewar University, presented a vote of thanks and said that Mewar Group is known for organizing nationalistic programs all though the year by commemorating the contribution of our national figures through the celebration of their Jayantis. Among those present on the occasion were Shri Bharat Bhushan, DG of the Law Institute, faculty members and the staff. The entire program was conducted by Ms. Tania Gupta of the B.Ed department.
Chittorgarh:Mewar University celebrated the 66th Republic Day with patriotic vehemence. Chief Guest for the occasion Shri Govind Lal Ji Gadiya, Secretary, Mewar Education Society unfurled the national flag at the Mewar University Campus, Chittorgarh. Shri Govind Lal Ji Gadiya also took the salute from the platoon march past organized by Mr.K.D.Khilji, Proctor. He also addressed the audience reprising the past valour of the national heroes and appealing the students in the campus to take it forward from where they left.
Chief Guest Shri Govind Lal Ji Gadiya accompanied with Shri Radha Krishna Ji Gadiya, Member, Board of Management, faculties and students enjoyed the cultural programmes.
Noteworthy programmes included patriotic song ‘Pooja jata hai chittor jagat mein’ written and sung by Shri Gopalji, ‘Hum us desh k vaashi hain, jis desh me ganga behti hai’ sung by Mr. Alok Kumar Vishwakarma and a group song ‘Sare jahan se achha hindustan hamara’ sungby Olito & Group. Audiences at the function also witnessed a mesmerising poetry performance by one of the cute little ‘Nanha Munna Rahi’ from Master Manish Hindonia. A Tree Plantation programme entitled ‘Green Bedrock’ organized by Department of Agriculture and Forestry was also initiated when all the Management and Academic Heads planted a tree each within the campus during later part of the celebration. The programme concluded on a sweet note with sweet distribution for students and high tea organized for faculties.
Celebrations for 66th Republic Day at Mewar University crossed boundary. Championing the cause of National Integration a team of Mewar University performed folk dances of various states viz; Laddhak, Jammu, Kashmir, Punjab, South India and Rajasthan at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Chittorgarh. Performances at the end were received with great enthusiasm when all the dancers displayed that in spite of all the differences we stand united as one Nation. A team of eight group dancers (four boys and four girls) from Mewar University also visited Army School yesterday to perform on a Punjabi Song.
