Rules of the debate

Rules of the debate:

1. The debate will be held in two languages viz. English and Hindi.

2. Each participating University is entitled to send maximum two teams of two speakers, one team in each language.

The organizers Reserve the right to invite individual colleges /institutes, which shall be considered as separate Institutions for award of Prizes.

3. Each of the team shall have one speaker speaking for the motion and the other speaking against the motion.

4. Two prizes will be awarded for each language separately, alongwith the prize for a best speaker in each language.

5. Awards will be in the form of cash, Trophies will be conferred to the winning teams.

6. Team prizes shall be awarded on the basis of joint performance of both the speakers of the participating team.

7. “All India Shri Nandlal Gadiya Memorial running Trophy” Shall be awarded based on the cumulative performance of the each Institution's teams.To be eligible for the running trophy an institution must participate in one or more categories.

Running Trophy shall be provisionally awarded to the institution based on the cumulative performance in both the categories.

The institution that wins the trophy three times in a row will ultimately receive both Prize money and the Trophy.

8. All the participants Shall be awarded the certificate of participation.

9. Each participant shall be given 5 minutes to speak and 1 minute for interjection.

10. Verdict of the judges will be final.

11. No protest or objection with regarding the decision or the procedure shall be entertained.

12. Participants must be Bonafide students of the participating institution, enrolled for the undergraduate or post graduate courses of study.

13. Entry to the debate will be subject to submission bonafide letter of the credentials from the head of the institution/

cultural coordinator/ dean students' welfare.

14. Speaking order of the participating teams shall be decided on the basis of draw lots.

15. The host University will arrange for the local hospitality of the guest teams free of charge from the evening of

28th February, 2024 to morning of 02nd March, 2024.

16. Contestants with written debates will not be eligible for prizes. However, a slip of paper bearing the points only will be

permitted.

18. All participants are informed that they should make return reservations only after 8 pm on March 1, 2024.

19. All participants are instructed to bring with them soft copy and hard copy of the topic on which they are speaking and submit it after the debate so that it can be published in the university's magazine.

20. The last date for registration is 20 February, 2024
