On October 9, 2024, the Civil Engineering Department of Mewar University organized a successful industrial visit to the UltraTech RMC Plant in Udaipur as part of the Centre of Excellence, UltraTech Cement Ltd. Forty-eight students from Diploma, B.Tech, and M.Tech programs participated, gaining valuable hands-on experience and exposure to cutting-edge RMC technologies and practices.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Alok Misra commended the Civil Engineering Department for its efforts in facilitating this visit, highlighting the department's commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry. The visit was supervised by Assistant Professors Mr. Shashivendra Dulawat, Mr. Abhishek Upadhyay, Mr. Deepak Dwivedi, and Mr. Paras Kumar, with support from Head of Department Dr. Esar Ahmad.
During the visit, students observed the RMC production process, quality control measures, safety protocols, and environmental considerations. They had the opportunity to interact with industry experts and witness advanced equipment in action. This experience not only enhanced their understanding and employability but also inspired them towards research and innovation.
The visit was a resounding success, and there are recommendations for regular industrial visits to further prepare students as industry-ready professionals.
