The Department of Civil Engineering, Mewar University, under the aegis of Centre of Excellence, UltraTech, organised a three-day workshop on "Concrete Mix Design: Practical Exercises and Testing". The workshop was a practical and enriching experience for all the participants, providing in-depth knowledge and practical training in concrete mix design. Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Alok Mishra said that the workshop helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, providing the participants with the necessary skills to excel in their future professional endeavours and appreciated the students and the Department of Civil Engineering for organising such a workshop. The instructor of the workshop was Assistant Professor Shashivendra Dulawat, who shared his valuable insights about the intricacies of concrete mix design, focusing on achieving the desired strength and workability of concrete. The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including fundamentals of mix design, selection of materials, proportioning and use of mixes, as well as practical testing methods. The workshop concluded with an address by Professor Kapil Nahar, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, who highlighted the importance of concrete mix design in the construction industry and encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge gained in their future projects. He also emphasized the department's commitment to providing such quality training opportunities for students. Assistant Professor Abhishek Upadhyaya served as the workshop coordinator, ensuring smooth execution of the program. On the last day of the workshop, Dr. Esar Ahmad, Head, Department of Civil Engineering delivered the vote of thanks and expressed his appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of the participants and expressed his gratitude to the faculty members for their dedication in making the workshop a success. Certificates of participation were distributed to all the attendees, marking the successful conclusion of the workshop.
