Every year 23rd March is observed as “Shaheed Diwas” with great passion and unity across India. The Department of Chemistry, Mewar University, Chittorgarh had organized “Shaheed Diwas” which is celebrated in remembrance of the three revolutionaries of India who were hanged to death by the British namely Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar.

This day is widely celebrated across India to honor these men who lost their lives serving mother India.

The program started with lamp lightning and kulgeet. In the beginning Dr. Mohammad Ashid, Head Department of Chemistry welcome all the dignitaries, students, and staff members. The students of Department of Chemistry, Mewar University, Chittorgarh who were interested in Speech and event, presented their speech, poem, and the life history of these freedom fighters. It was very interacting speech with a good response from students. After that Prof. Dr. H.S. Chauhan explained the life, personality, struggle and freedom movement of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The program ended with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Hemraj Singh, AP, Department of Chemistry.
