a) Environmental Engineering Lab -The aim of this lab, that the students will learn the essential principles used in Industrial pollution abatement and understand important issues in Industrial pollution abatement and pertinent environmental legislations. After undergoing this lab the students will have the knowledge of surface water and ground water quality and the remediation technologies, the design processes for treatment of environmental Pollutants, indoor air pollution and control, as well as global atmosphere change. Facilities available to Determine Turbidity, Alkality, Acidity, free CO2, COD, BOD, Organic Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Hardness of Waste Water by Analytical and spectroscopic method.A spectrophotometer measures sample compositions and concentration as a function of the color intensity or more specifically, the wavelength of light absorbed by the analyze .UV/VIS spectroscopy is routinely used in quantitative determination of solution of transition metals and highly conjugated organic compound .Using Beer’s law, information about sample concentration can be determined by the specific wavelength at which the analyze absorb UV or visible light. A sample is placed in the spectrophotometer and ultraviolet or visible light at certain wavelength or range of wavelength is transmitted through the sample. The spectrophotometer measures how much light is absorbed by sample and produces a report for the user.
b) Process Fluid Mechanics Lab To make the students understand the basic concepts of fluids and fluid flow which are essential in majority of the engineering applications. After undergoing this lab the students will have the knowledge of various pressure measuring instruments, fluid statics, types of fluid motion, fluid dynamics, pipe flow, the concept of boundary layer, lift and drag etc. This process fluid mechanics laboratory is intended for the second year students of Chemical Engineering branch in the subject.
