The Faculty of Science and Technology, Mewar University, Mahatma Gandhi Govt School, Sawa, and Rover and Ranger Unit organized a Tree Plantation Drive as an outreach activity on July 24th, 2026, at Govt Iti College, Sawa, Chittorgarh. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pramod Mehta, Head of the Department of Mathematics, along with Dr. Umesh Garu, Head of the Department of Life Sciences. Mr Abhishek Chasta, Principal MG School Sawa, The drive witnessed the active participation of Sdmc mla delegate Mr dinesh niyati and ram Prasad bagherwal, Mr Vishnu Sharma, Vice Principal, Mr Anil Dak Lecture MG school, faculty members including Dr. Ramgopal Dhaker, Mr. Pankaj Teli, Ms. Ritu Sharma, Ms. Prachi Singh, Dr Akshay Yadav and Ms. Komal Prajapat, along with students. A wide variety of trees were planted during the drive, such as Amla, Neem, Sitafal, Pipal, Jamun, Amaltas, Ashok, Guava, Imli, and Kachnar. This initiative not only contributed to environmental conservation but also inspired students to take responsibility for a greener and healthier future.
The event also saw enthusiastic participation from the students of MGS School. Guided by their teachers and inspired by the visiting university faculty, the students eagerly engaged in planting and nurturing the saplings. Their involvement highlighted the importance of instilling environmental awareness from an early age and promoting a sense of responsibility toward nature. Teachers from the school appreciated the efforts of Mewar University and expressed their willingness to collaborate in future initiatives focused on sustainability and environmental education.
