The Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Mewar University, successfully organized an International Webinar under its International Webinar Series on the theme “Climate Change and Air Pollution – Global Scenario” on 30th October 2025. The event brought together faculty members, students, and researchers to explore the global environmental challenges linked to climate change and air quality deterioration.
The session was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Roberto San José, Director of the Environmental Software & Modelling Group, Computer Science School, Technical University of Madrid (Spain), as the Guest Speaker. Prof. Roberto is an eminent researcher with over 100 scientific publications and more than 400 international conference presentations to his credit. His extensive work in air pollution modeling, particularly through advanced mesoscale and CFD models like WRF/Chem and PALM, has significantly contributed to understanding global atmospheric systems and urban air quality.
The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Deepak Vyas, Dean (Academics), followed by words of wisdom by Professor Alok Misra Honorable Vice Chancellor and then an introduction of the guest speaker by Professor Vinesh Agarwal, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Prof. Roberto delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the interconnected dynamics of climate change and air pollution, their global implications, and the importance of integrated modeling approaches for policy formulation and sustainable environmental management.
The lecture was followed by an interactive Q&A session, where participants actively engaged with the speaker, discussing potential solutions and current research trends in environmental modeling. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by the Professor Ajay Kumar, Director (Applied Research), appreciating Prof. Roberto’s valuable contribution and the enthusiastic participation of attendees. Participants also shared their feedback, expressing appreciation for the session’s relevance and depth.
