1.     Introduction

As part of its commitment to community outreach and social responsibility, Mewar University organized awareness event themed “Road Safety and Save Animal”. The goal was to sensitize students, faculty, and the local community about the twin challenges of road safety and protection of animals in the vicinity of roads. The event also aimed to foster values of citizen responsibility, compassion, and environmental stewardship among youth. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr, Pramod Mehta and Dr Neelu Jain and Ms. Ritu Sharma and  under the Mentorship of Prof (Dr.) Alok Misra, Vice Chancellor, Mewar University.

2. Objectives

The main objectives of the event were:

  1. Raise awareness about road safety— traffic rules, helmet use, seat belts, pedestrian rights, avoiding speeding, and safe driving habits.
  2. Highlight the impact of vehicular accidents on animals, including wildlife animals and  stray animals and promote preventive measures (like speed control, caution signs, safe animal.

3.     Event Details:

  • The donation event was held on 25/09/2025 at Chittorgarh area. The University team, comprising faculty members and student volunteers from the Rovers and Rangers unit. The street rally drew attention in the surrounding neighborhoods, prompting passers-by to pause and listen. The distribution of pamphlets helped reach local residents who might not typically think of the link between roads and animal welfare

4. Participation & Involvement

  • Participants: The event saw enthusiastic participation from 32 Rovers and Rangers, plus 10  additional student volunteers, faculty, and local community members.
  • Materials Used: Pamphlets, posters, placards, slogan boards, first- banners.

5.      Impact On the day itself, many participants expressed greater awareness and resolve to drive safely and avoid harming animals. Some local people appreciated the initiative.

6.     Conclusion

The Rover & Ranger University of Mewar University event on road safety and animal protection successfully brought together two closely linked issues under a single awareness campaign. It mobilized youth energy, to educated participants and the community, and created a platform for ongoing action. If sustained through follow-up and collaboration, such initiatives can contribute meaningfully to reducing road accidents and protecting animals on roadways.
