Industrial Visit Mahindra Tractor Plant, Jaipur

On 28th March 2025, the Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an industrial visit to the Mahindra Tractor Plant in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This visit aimed to provide students with valuable practical exposure to manufacturing processes, assembly line operations, and technological advancements in the tractor industry. The visit was made possible with the support of the Management of Mewar University, the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, the Dy. Dean of Engineering, and the Head of the department.

A total of 28 students from the Mechanical Engineering Department participated in this visit. The students were accompanied by Mr. Bahadur Singh, Technical Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and a Trainer from Mahindra Tractors, who both coordinated and supervised the visit. The students received prior information about the visit's schedule and guidelines, ensuring they were well-prepared and adhered to all instructions throughout the day.

Upon arrival at the Mahindra Tractor Plant, the group was warmly received by Mr. Kulveer SinghManager in Engineering Research & Development (ER&D), Ms Sonal Sangwal HR and plant representatives. The students were then given a detailed tour of the plant, where they observed various stages of tractor manufacturing, assembly line operations, and the application of modern technological innovations. Industry experts provided clear explanations about the plant’s operations, production techniques, assembly line automation, and quality control measures.

Throughout the plant tour, students adhered to all safety protocols as outlined by both the plant officials and the accompanying faculty members.

Following the plant tour, a Q&A session was organized, allowing students to engage with industry experts and deepen their understanding of the plant’s operations. During this session, the following key topics were discussed on

·         Tractor Assembly Line Process

·         Manufacturing Technology and Process Optimization

·         Robotic Automation in Production

·         Quality Control and Testing Procedures

·         Material Handling and Safety Procedures

·         Technological Advancements in Tractor Design

The experts addressed all student queries comprehensively, offering valuable insights into how theoretical knowledge is applied in the field of mechanical engineering.

Students gained exposure to real-world industrial practices and observed how critical engineering principles are integrated into large-scale production. For the faculty, the visit provided a valuable opportunity to observe the latest advancements in the industry and refresh their understanding of contemporary manufacturing processes.
