Mr. Sohail Akhtar, Adviser, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India has delivered a lecture on the topic “Renewable Energy- Present and Future Perspectives” on 22nd October 2016 at 2.30 pm at Maharana Pratap seminar hall, Mewar University.
Mr. Sohail Akhtar has been dealing with Solar Water Heating Systems, Solar Air Dyer and Solar Space Heating. He has been also involved in various R&D programmes related to Battery Operated Vehicles, Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles, Design and Development of Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Vehicles. He has also worked with IITs, Central Universities, NITs, CSIR Labs, Delhi Energy Development Agency and with industries like Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Bajaj, Hero Honda, Tata Iron Steel Company (Jamshedpur) etc.
Mr. Sohail Akhtar has delivered an eye opener lecture for the students about the field of renewable energy sources. He has given brief information about various institutions working in the field of renewable energy like NISE, NIWE, NIRE and IREDA. He has also given some valuable points from the field of batteries and hybrid electric vehicle, solar thermal and photovoltaic system. Mr. Sohail Akhtar has shared his experience in the field of solar space heating system through a case study done at Leh, Ladakh and Kargil area. Prof. H.S. Sharma [Pro V.C., Mewar University], Dr. R K Paliwal [Dean, Basic Science, Mewar University], Dr. Ravikant [Director, Applied Research], HoDs and faculties of various departments of MU and students from Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Civil and B.Sc. Agriculture have attended the lecture.
