An inter college engineering quiz competition was held at Department of Civil Engineering, Mewar University on October 28, 2015. The event was organized by Indian Concrete Institute in association with Ultratech Cement Limited. The quiz competition was based on the theme of “Cement & Concrete Technology” and meant for the 3rd and 4th year students of Mewar University. Continuing with the tradition of close Industry-Academia Interaction, Mewar University took this initiative as one more step toward bringing the industry closer to the students. The objective of this quiz competition was to make the subject interesting and thus encourage the budding Civil Engineers.
A total of 198 students registered and appeared for the quiz. The competition contains 3 rounds. It was the first round of the competition. The top two scorers from Mewar University will be selected and called for second round to be held in Jaipur, where students from Mewar University will compete with students from other Institutes and later third round will be held based on the results of second round.
Mewar University has always believed in delivering education through practical and field experience. And initiatives like this are examples of its efforts in this direction wherein students get a chance to interact with eminent technocrats and professionals from the industry. Steps taken in the direction of Industry-Academia collaboration indicate the commitment of Mewar University management to quality education to produce employable and industry-ready youth.
