Chittorgarh: Mewar University paid glowing tributes to Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and expressed gratitude to the entire teaching fraternity on the occasion of Teachers' Day on September 5, 2014. The program, organized by Civil Department, started with the lighting of the lamp reverentially, followed by melodious singing of Saraswati Vandana by students.
The function was inaugurated by Shri Govind Lal Ji Gadiya, Secretary, Mewar Education Society and Member, Board of Management. He delivered a motivating speech that contained excerpts from the address of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to the students of India. He underscored the role of teachers in inculcating Indian ethics and values among today’s youth.
Dr. R.K. Paliwal, Dean (Basic Sciences), in his speech, stated that the late President, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, still remains an inspiration for the entire nation in general and the academic community in particular. Dr. Paliwal also stressed the need of maintaining a cordial relationship between students and teachers.
Mr. H. Widhani, OSD, also extended his greetings to teachers on the occasion and thanked everyone, including the organizers, teachers and students for their efforts in turning the celebration into a magnificent cultural event.
The function concluded with a wonderful surprise gift for all faculty members in the form of annual increments given as a token of appreciation of their services to the University.
