Shivaji Jayanti Celebration-2016

The Department of Physics, Mewar University, celebrated Chhtrapati Shivaji Jayanti on 19 February 2016 with traditional pomp and gaiety at Seminar Hall in the University campus.

 

Dr. R. K. Paliwal (Dean) lighted the lamp, garlanded the image of Chhtrapati Sivaji and gave a motivational speech on Chhtrapatti Shivaji’s life to encourage the audience to imbibe the principles Shivaji stood for. He also enlighltened the students about various acts of Shivaji’s bravery.

 

The program was coordinated by Dr. Gulzar Ahmed. The celebration included cultural performances by students. Arunav (M.Sc., Phy.) and Tahira (B.Sc.(H) Physics) anchored the program. Aakansha (M.Sc., Phy.) delivered a speech on the life of Veer Shivaji. Aparna (B.Tech. I yr) and Arunav (M.Sc., Phy.) presented their melodious singing performances. Manish, Manoj, Ramhans, Rakesh, Sanjay and Pushpa (Students of Diploma) staged a skit under the guidance of Mr. Atul Dwivedi to honor Veer Shivaji. Baby Pari recited a poem on freedom fighters of our country. The program concluded with a quiz competition organized by Pradyut (M.Sc., Phy.). The dignitaries gave away the prizes to the winners of the quiz competition. A vote of thanks was given by Mr. Sanjay Singh. The celebration ended with the singing of National Anthem.
