This year Electrical Engg department in Mewar university celebrated Gandhi Jayanti. For the first time in the history of Mewar University a national level exhibition on the life of Mahatma Gandhi was organized by Electrical Engg department. Honorable Chancellor of Mewar University, Mr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya was very gratified with the work done by Electrical Engg department.
Mahatma (Great Soul) Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (1869-1948) stands as one of history’s greatest heroes of “engaged spirituality,” a spirituality that is active within the world to help heal injustice, hatred, pettiness, fear and violence with justice, loving-kindness, equanimity, courage and nonviolence.
Gandhiji was one of our great leaders who fought for the independence of the country and won it. He was a selfless leader and suffered many hardships for the freedom of our country. He was sent to jail many a times, but he suffered all this for the sake of the country. He believed in the social equality. He was deadly against untouchability. He called them Harijans or the children of God. He was loved by all his countrymen. Respectfully we call him Bapu or the Father of the Nation.
Along with Mahatma Gandhi, lal bahadur shastri jayanti was also celebrated on the same day. Mewar university has the tradition of celebrating jayanti’s but this time with the national level exhibition conducted on the life of mahatma Gandhi and lal bahadur shastri by Electrical Engg department, this jayanti celebration has risen to a whole new level, which was appreciated by whole Mewar University.
With this exhibition various other programs was also organized like singing, dancing, skit, quiz etc a huge participation was done from the student side for Gandhi jayanti
