Mewar University in grip of sporting fervor as Annual Games & Sports Meet kicks off

Chittor:The Annual Games & Sports Meet of Mewar University began on 6th December, 2013 in the University Campus in the presence of Chief Guest Shri Govind Lal Gadiya, Secretary Mewar Education Society and Member, Board of management. Shri R.K.Gadiya, Member, BOM was the Guest of Honor and Prof (Dr) P.Ramaiah, Registrar, presided over the function.

 The event started with lighting of the lamp before Goddess Saraswati, and then the torch was lit by the Chief Guest. On this occasion, the Chief Guest addressed the students and participants and stated that games and sports are an integral part of student life. In games one comes in contact with different students and establishes new friendship and learns the habit of losing and winning. It is the games which breaks the barrier among different groups. A sportsperson is the ambassador of peace and friendship. Mewar University has always supported the students in participating at different levels and will provide all type of help in the future also. He conveyed to all the participating students his good wishes.

 The President of the Function Prof (Dr) P.Ramaiah called upon the students to participate at least in one of the games as it keeps them healthy, smart and active. A healthy mind lives in healthy body. The games should be played with the sporting-spirit. Every player will have to observe the rules of games and obey the directions of the referee. Players should set an example of being disciplined and spirited youth.

  Dr. R.K.Paliwal, Dean Basic Sciences thanked all the guests, who spared their valuable time to grace the occasion and to boost the morale of participants. Mr Sunil Gadiya, Member BOM, Mr H.Widhani, OSD, Mr D.K.Sharma, Dy Dean, Dr Harish Nagar, Director(Diploma) Mr S.K.Das, Director (Trg), Mr Harish Gurnani, Director (Placement) and all the faculties, staff and students were present on the occasion.
