Prof. S.C. Agrawal enthralls audience with his lecture on Vedic mathematics

Chittorgarh:Prof. S. C. Agrawal and his team visited Mewar University on 5th October 2013. He is one of the Renowned Professors of Mathematics. He has served Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut as Dean, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering for four years. He has supervised 36 PhDs and more than 70 M.Phils so far. He has more than 75 Research Papers published in renowned National and International Journals to his credit

It was a great opportunity for both students and faculty members to learn something from such a great scholar. This interactive lecture was organized for B. Tech first year students in the seminar hall.  Prof. Agrawal delivered a brilliant lecture on Vedic Mathematics and explained Mathematical fallacies existing in many branches of mathematics. Mathematical fallacy, as typically presented, lead not only to an absurd result, but do so in a crafty or clever way. Therefore, these fallacies, for pedagogic reasons, usually take the form of spurious proofs of obvious contradictions.

Prof. Agrawal illustrated short-cut methods for calculating squares and cube root of large numbers. Faculty members of Mathematics and Physics department were present there. Students enjoyed the activities during the lecture session. Finally, Vote of thanks was extended by Dean, Basic Sciences, Prof. R.K. Paliwal.
