The department of Mining Engineering was established with the objective to provide quality education and practical exposure to the Diploma Students. The department as a whole has been carrying out Geological explorations, investigation, survey, mapping and reserves estimation etc. for identifying various mineral deposits across the Chittorgarh region and in different parts of the country. Mining engineers involves to apply their knowledge, experience of new technology and the application of extracting and processing of minerals with safety and environment friendly atmosphere.
The Department is established in area, around Chittorgarh and Bhilwara where number of cement plants (9) along with their captive mining are going on and so the students can easily get practical training after Diploma And they also can get opportunity of job as well as the industry can get benefit out of them. Because Udaipur division is itself rich in various minerals (Limestone deposit of different grades, quartz, feldspar, soapstone, clay, iron deposit, marble deposit, metalliferous deposit like lead-zinc, iron (Bhilwara), etc,) on which many industries are set up in state as well as outside the state. This gives the indication of the requirement of Mining Engineers both Diploma andDegree.
